How do you use the questions?

The questions switch between who's singing and which year the song came out. The year questions are harder than they look; give a year's margin if you're playing on paper, or let the fox do it for you in the Timeline, where it's the order that counts, not the exact year.

The level is medium: the hits are all there, but the list is broader in genre than the 80s – Britpop, pop-punk, nu-metal and Swedish pop in the same round.

What's the difference between the 90s and the 00s?

The 90s is grunge, Britpop, eurodance and Kent; the 00s is pop-punk, nu-metal, R&B and the first songs that broke through online instead of on the radio. The pool has slightly more songs from the 00s than from the 90s, and Kent, Oasis, Green Day, Linkin Park, Roxette and Ace of Base are the artists that show up most often. About one in four songs is Swedish.

The questions below mix the decades on purpose. If you want to tell them apart, the Timeline is the right game: there you place the song between the ones you've already laid out, and being a year off doesn't matter as long as the order is right.
